A rare privilege (twice)

Amongst the many benefits of doing freelance press photography which I do occasionally is the opportunity to meet incredible people.

One of my most memorable encounters was with Captain Christopher Wells, the man at the helm of the Queen Mary II.

I’ve been very fortunate to meet him twice: the first time when he came into Liverpool with the flagship vessel of Cunard’s fleet and the second on the occasion of the unforgettable Three Queens event to make the 175th anniversary of the Cunard Shipping Line.

It is truly fascinating to listen to him talk about his career and the responsibility which goes with being in charge of such a prestigious vessel.
